Hmmm

Should I be nervous that my husband just asked me not to be home until at least 8 because he is installing something as a surprise and asked "Is it ok if I drill holes in the ceiling?" Odd question. I'm a little afraid. Just sayin.

Holy Crap

My dog is huge. She is only 4 and a half months old and she now weighs SIXTY POUNDS! We measure her once a month and in one month she grew at least 5 inches in height! But she's still adorably clumsy, as all puppies should be. Here are a couple of new pictures:

Jay has now taught her to sit and stay on command, which she does (most of the time) and we are THRILLED that she has learned something!

She is very cuddly, which I love, but sometimes she gets random spurts of energy and she'll sprint lighting-fast laps around our tv room - it's a riot!

She has recently discovered a love of running outside (she used to hate it - too much snow and cold) so we take her out whenever we can. Our giant puppy has also met a new little neighbor friend, a dog about a third her size, and it's funny to see them run around and play. Caly still hasn't figured out how big she is, so the little dog gets trampled a bit when they're running around. They both seem pretty happy, though, so we just let them be.

All in all, this dog is pretty much the best gift I've ever gotten and for the most part (she still has her naughty puppy moments) she is a ton of fun to have around!

Oh the things you blog about when you don't feel like typing a long post ...

Alright, I actually do have things in my life to blog about - birthday, family, etc, but I'm not really in the mood to type a long post and it would probably end up being mind numbingly dull if I did because I'm not feeling even slightly creative right now. So ... this is what you get until I run into one of those random "wow I'm feeling clever, I think I'll write a cute blog" moods:

Here are the rules:

1. Go to your documents/pictures.

2. Go to your 6th file.

3. Go to your 6th picture.

4. Blog about it.

5. Tag 6 people to do the same.

I love this picture. I don't love that the photographer forgot how to spell my name ... but I love the picture.

And let me tell you, getting onto a motorcycle in a wedding dress is not as easy as it may seem. (I know you were looking at this thinking, wow, that looks simple and comfortable ... ) I was terrified I was going to rip my dress or get it dirty or something and we were nowhere near finished with the photography portion of the day. Luckily, 15 minutes and no incidents later ... We ended up with some really cute (and original, in my opinion) wedding pictures.

By the way yes ... That is the real color of Jay's suit. It was his one request and what kind of person would I be if I didn't let him have a lime green zoot suit?

Oh, and I'm not big on tagging. I don't like the pressure. So if you'd like to do this, go for it. I'll definitely read it. But if you don't, I won't hate you.

Too Tired ...

I don't know what the deal is, but after having 2 short weeks, I'm having such a hard time getting back into the swing of things! All I want to do is take a nap. I'm thinking I just got too used to reduced work weeks. Any ideas on how to get my momentum back? I'm tired of being tired! haha.

Our Cute Baby

My husband is probably the sweetest man ever. We have been talking since before we got married about getting a dog, but we were planning to wait until March or April to get one. Well ... my cute hubby decided to surprise me with one for my birthday (end of January) so he started looking into it more this month. He found a great deal on the type of dog I wanted so he surprised me even earlier. I came home from my Christmas dinner with the girls on saturday to this:

Isn't she cute?! She's a great dane puppy, 11 weeks old. We named her Calypso and we call her Caly for short.

She has been so much fun to have at home!! She is, in true puppy fashion, very playful and clumsy but she is also very sweet and cuddley. We're crazy about her.

I'm so excited to see her get bigger .... and bigger and bigger. She's too sweet!

Calling All Married Friends

Let me preface this post by saying that I LOVE all of my friends' children who are male. They are all very sweet and fun and I'm thrilled you have them. (Or if you're pregnant with a boy, I will love your child and I'm in no way disappointed in you or upset with your baby's gender.)

But for the love of pete, will someone PLEASE get pregnant with a girl? I see cute little girl baby things all the time - bows, head bands, dresses, shoes, jewelry - and I am unable to purchase them for any of my friends because ... quite frankly ... it would be a little sad to see a baby boy in a ruffled lacy church dress and matching bow.

Plus, all the cute little girl names I hear about are completely wasted on boys and I'm running out of cute boy name suggestions (I'm only one person).

So I leave you with this plea ... If you're considering trying for a child or have already decided to try to become pregnant, THINK PINK and the rewards will be endless.

Query

A few weeks ago, Jay and I were driving to a friend's house and had to stop to fill up my car with gas. While the gas was pumping, I happened to glance up and see this sticker and noticed a moment later that the same sticker was on all of the pumps at this particular gas station: (the last word says Approval-not really important but just thought I'd throw that in there)

I immediately started cracking up, amazed that someone would make that mistake. I look over to the other side of the car only to see that Jay isn't laughing. Apparently, I have an odd sense of humor that makes me crack up when I see publicly posted gramatical errors.

After realizing that my hilarious discovery was in fact ... not that hilarious to my dear husband, I immediately set my sights on finding someone who would be as amused as I was.

We arrived at our friends house and I shared with them the once-thought funny photo taken of the sticker. Again .... no amusement.

I showed it to my family the following Sunday afternoon and finally received the laughter that I was hoping for from the start. (Almost a full week later)

So my question ... Is it really that weird that I'm so amused by the mistake of others (seriously, does no one proof read anymore before putting signs and stickers up at their place of work?) or did I just happen to show it to the wrong people?
